Bloomsburg Falls to East Stroudsburg in Women's Basketball

EAST STROUDSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's basketball lost to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday night by a score of 78-39.

The Warriors led from start to finish in the game, but held just a five point lead, 21-16, on a rebound basket by Colleen Kegerreis (Schuylkill Haven/Schuylkill Haven) with 9:01 left to go in the first half. East Stroudsburg, though, outscored the Huskies 19-14 the rest of the way and led by a score of 40-30 at halftime.

East Stroudsburg opened the second half on a 12-0 run to push the margin to 52-30 with just under 14 minutes to play. The Huskies briefly had the deficit to 19 points, 54-35, after a three-pointer by Lauren Healy (Glenmoore/Owen J. Roberts), but that would be as close as the Huskies would get.

Brea Lewis (Philadelphia/Frankford) finished with 10 points for Bloomsburg, while Kegerreis scored six and had 12 rebounds. East Stroudsburg, 8-8, 2-0 in the PSAC East, got 25 points from Jackie Yandrisevits and 10 from Mel Villano.

The Huskies, now 5-12, 1-2 in the PSAC East, host Kutztown on Saturday at 1 p.m.
